The Effort Reporting System at ASU has been replaced by a web-based After-the-Fact Review Report tool. This change is being implemented in line with Federal regulations that no longer mandate effort reporting, but continue to require strong internal controls and auditable records. The new tool should require fewer steps than the previous Effort Reporting System, and the ATF Review Report process will continue to be streamlined and simplified in future iterations.
The initial release of After-the-Fact Review Reports is scheduled for January and will encompass all personnel expenditures from calendar year 2018 (1/1/2018 – 12/30/2018). Following any adjustments to correct payroll charges, the PI’s acknowledgement will be recorded in the system for audit purposes. One review and acknowledgement by the PI for each sponsored award will meet the compliance requirement for all of 2018 (spring, summer and fall).
