6/29/22 REMINDER – This is a reminder that per the Updated NIH Other Support requirements that became effective on January 25, 2022, all NIH Other Support documents must undergo an additional layer of Institutional Review. Please continue to send NIH Other Support documents for Institutional Review, following the instructions outlined below.
1/31/2022 – Additional layers of institutional review have been implemented in order to address the new NIH Other Support requirements. Primarily, Research Operations is reviewing NIH Other Support documents for considerations related to disclosures (or missing disclosures) of current financial interests and relationships.
Processes and timelines are outlined below for requesting advanced review of Other Support documents:
- Other Support documents for JIT Requests*: For Just-In-Time (JIT) post-submission requests on NIH proposals, the RA should use the Notify PNT activity on the ERA Funding Proposal (FP) to route all completed Other Support documents to the Proposal GCO for review, at least 3 Business Days prior to the submission deadline. (Note: If the JIT Request is short-turnaround — one week or less — submit OS documents to the Proposal GCO as early as possible). State (or re-state) the deadline for submission to NIH in the message to PNT.
- Other Support documents for RPPR’s: For upcoming NIH Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR) submissions, send all completed Other Support documents to the AMT Fiscal Reporting GCO by email at least 3 Business Days prior to the submission deadline. State (or re-state) the deadline for submission to NIH in the message to AMT.
*The work instructions for Post-Submission Actions (WI-SN-40) have been updated to include this guidance.
