RESOLVED – Some ERA Notifications Are Failing to Send

This issue has now been resolved and ERA email notifications are working properly.

Note: all failed notifications from this week are now being sent out.

After Monday’s ERA update, a bug in ERA Grants has been discovered which is causing some proposal-related ERA-generated notifications to fail. The ERA Development Team has identified the cause of the issue and is working on a solution to get all notifications working properly again, as soon as possible this week.

As affected activities (listed below) will prevent ERA from sending email notifications, RAs are advised to proactively monitor active Funding Proposals in ERA and manually alert recipients, as needed, when action is needed:

Email RA You have received a message regarding Proposal [FP ID] When the Proposal GCO or another stakeholder runs the Email RA activity on an FP, the system normally sends an email notification to the current RA owner. This notification has been failing to send.
Notify PNT [Research Administrator name] is requesting special review for proposal [FP ID] When an RA runs the Notify PNT activity on an FP, the system normally sends an email notification to the Proposal GCO. This notification has been failing to send.
Department Reviewers Approve Proposal Department Review has completed on [FP ID] Once the last Department Reviewer has approved an ERA Funding Proposal – FP, the system normally sends an email to the current RA owner to let them know that Department Review is complete. This notification has been failing to send.
Manage Proposal Editors-Readers You have been granted edit/read access to Proposal [FP ID] When an RA runs the Manage Proposal Editors-Readers activity on an FP, the system normally sends email notifications to the individuals who have been added as Editors and/or Readers on the FP. Those notifications have been failing to send.
Assign RA Ownership RA ownership has changed for Proposal [FP ID] When an RA runs the Assign RA Ownership activity, the system normally sends an email notification to the previous RA Owner and to the new RA Owner. Those notifications have been failing to send this week.
Email ORIA You have a message regarding Proposal FP ID When an RA runs the Assign RA Ownership activity, the system normally sends an email notification to the previous RA Owner and to the new RA Owner. Those notifications have been failing to send this week.

Additional activities/notifications may be impacted and may fail in some instances if they are connected to the same template bug that is being worked on.
