New Training Requirement for NSF Investigators

All NSF investigators and other senior personnel are required to take “RCR – Faculty and Senior Personnel Responsible Conduct of Research” training in CITI.  This is effective for NSF proposals awarded after July 31, 2023.  ERA will place an automatic hold status on new NSF awards pending RCR training completion.

The training takes about 2 hours and is valid for 4 years. For general questions about this training requirement, contact [email protected].

Note:

  • NSF investigators and senior personnel on pending NSF proposals have received email notifications informing them of this requirement.
  • The RCR – Faculty and Senior Personnel Responsible Conduct of Research training is different from the “Conflict of Interest” training in CITI.
  • The best way for investigators to confirm if they have completed this training is to log into CITI and see if this course is under the “Completed Courses” section.
