NIH Guidance on Marking Changes in Resubmission Applications

NOTICE, February 28th, 2024 – The National Institute of Health (NIH) issued a notice providing new guidance on marking changes in Resubmission applications on February 13, 2024.

The notice states: “The use of markups such as bracketing, indenting, highlighting, bolding, italicizing, underlining, margin lines, change in typography, font, or font color, or any other type of markup should not be used to identify changes in Resubmission applications”.  Changes to Resubmission applications should be outlined in the introduction attachment and must include a summary of substantial changes to the application and a response to weaknesses.

This NIH Modification to Guidance replaces NOT-OD-15-030 (RESCINDED) with NOT-OD-24-061.

Inquiries should be directed to the NIH Review Policy Officer.  Additional information may be found on the Resubmission FAQ’s page.
