Website Update: NSF Checklist

5/17/2024 – The NSF proposal checklist on the researchadmin website has been updated to align with the latest National Science Foundation (NSF) Proposal & Award Policies & Procedure Guide (PAPPG NSF 24-1: Effective for proposals submitted or due on or after May 20, 2024).

Key changes to ASU’s NSF Checklist include:

  • Added a bullet for the “Potential Impacts on Tribal Nations” checkbox to the Cover sheet section. (See ASU Research Operations News: Proposals that May Impact Tribal…)
  • Added a reminder to the Budget section, indicating that NSF policy limits salary compensation for senior/key personnel to no more than 2 months per year in proposal budgets (unless a higher amount of budgeted effort is strongly justified in the budget justification).
  • Updated the personnel document sections, Biographical Sketch and Current & Pending (Other) Support, as follows:
    • Senior/key personnel must now use the NSTC-approved Common Forms in SciENcv.
    • Senior/key personnel are now required to complete the following certifications in SciENcv when completing their personnel docs:
      • I certify that the information provided is current, accurate, and complete. This includes but is not limited to information related to domestic and foreign appointments and positions.
      • I also certify that, at the time of submission, I am not a party in a malign foreign talent recruitment program. (See recent MFTRP news post).
  • Revised Mentoring Plan section to indicate that this type of plan must be included when postdoctoral scholars or graduate students are budgeted on the project.
  • Added an Advanced computing section – PIs/Units should refer to Projects Requiring Advanced Computing Resources, Data, and Analysis Capabilities, if applicable to the proposed project.
