7/21/2023 – The FY24 ERE and Tuition Remission rates are now available to select in ERA Funding Proposal (FP) budgets.
Pre-existing FPs will not automatically update to the new rates. However, users can apply the update to in-process FPs by selecting the “7/19/2023” effective date on Budget Smartform 1.2 F&A Rate Determination, Question 10.0.
Any proposals submitted on or after August 1, 2023 must use FY24 ERE and Tuition Remission rates.
7/5/2023 – The Salaries, Wages, and ERE page and Other Direct Costs page on the researchadmin website have been updated with the new rates. The updated F&A Rate Agreement will soon be available on the F&A Documents tab of the F&A Sitelet, and the updated Proposal Budget Development spreadsheet will be posted on the Forms & Templates page.
For proposals submitted with old ERE rates – if a copy of the corresponding (older version of our) rate agreement or the old rate table is needed, please contact [email protected] or your assigned Proposal GCO.
6/29/2023 – ASU’s updated F&A Rate Agreement with new FY24 ERE rates has been fully-executed.
The ERA Team is working to implement FY24 rates for Employee Related Expenses (ERE) and Tuition Remission in ERA Proposals. The target ERA effective date for the new rates is July 14, 2023.
For planning purposes, below is the anticipated timeline:
- Week of July 10-14: The FY 24 tuition remission effective date becomes available to select in ERA.
- August 1: Any proposals submitted on or after August 1, 2023 must use the FY24 tuition remission rates and FY24 ERE rates (using the 7/14/2023 effective date on budget smartform 1.2 F&A Rate Determination, Question 10.0 ERE and Tuition Remission Rates Effective Date).
The researchadmin website will also be updated with these new rates.
04/10/2023 – The ASU Office of Planning & Budget has prepared and submitted ASU’s FY2024 *ERE Rate Proposal to the US Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS).
DHHS typically begins their review in the Spring, and ASU should have approved rates for Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) by June 2023. DHHS has discouraged ASU from using proposed rates early.
Once the rates have been negotiated and approved, ASU and DHHS will sign a new rate agreement. Research Operations will implement the new rates in **ERA, etc. at that time. Until then, please continue to use the ERE rates outlined on the Salaries, Wages, and ERE page in all proposal budgets.
