On January 1, 2025, DOE will require enhanced identity proofing to access the ARPA-E and EERE eXCHANGE sites. All users will be required to log in with either (1) ID.me; or (2) Login.gov with additional ID verifications, as described in the new eXCHANGE login guide.
Please aware that both login options will require users to provide their Social Security Number and a scan or photo of your driver’s license or state ID card as part of the identity verification process. Both Login.gov and ID.me confirm that information provided via their sites is secure and encrypted.
Note that the verification process may take several days, especially if you have experienced a change in address. Users are encouraged to initiate the process ahead of January 1, 2025 to ensure any access issues are resolved prior to 2025 DOE deadlines. RAs with PIs who submit to DOE are encouraged to inform their PIs about these additional access requirements and urge them to get access as soon as possible.
